Idol toss
Idol Toss

Tossing 5 eggs.

Idol Toss is a feature in Kid Icarus: Uprising that helps the player obtain Idols. To use it, the player places an egg from the side into the dish and pull the dish down. The eggs will launch, and an Idol will appear.

However, caution is advised—if the player drops an egg to the ground, it might break, losing it forever. It may also crack, but this does not yield any negative consequences. If the player takes an egg but decides to not use it, it is best to place it gently on the bottom; it will reappear on the right after the next toss. Eggs can be obtained through completing chapters or buying one in exchange for one Play Coin. Once the player collects every Idol in the game, the Idol Toss will not yield any more new ones.

When placed in the bowl, a percentage will be displayed, which is the chance of receiving a new Idol. As the player collects more idols, the chance of getting a new one decreases by about 0.3%. Multiple eggs can be placed in the bowl to increase the percentage. Only five eggs can be stocked at once.

Each colored egg has a different percentage of success; white eggs, being the most common, have the lowest chance, and red eggs, being the rarest, have the highest chance.

  • White: Base chance.

  • Green: Base chance+5%.
  • Blue: Base chance+10%.
  • Red: Base chance+20%.

Trivia:[]

  • The concept for the Idol Toss originated in the Super Smash Bros. series. In Super Smash Bros. Melee, the more coins the player delivers to the slot machine, the higher the chances increase of obtaining a new trophy. In Super Smash Bros. Brawl, a mini-game exists in which the player could shoot coins along a board to try to hit trophies; whichever trophies the player hit are obtained. It also has a reference to The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap in which Link can bet mysterious shells to earn figurines and has a higher chance of winning new one by betting more.
