A Land Battle (地上戦 Chijō-sen) is a gameplay mechanic in Kid Icarus: Uprising. Appearing in both Solo Mode and Together Mode, this form of battle typically appears in the middle of each chapter, with the exceptions of Chapter 18 and Chapter 22.

Overview[]

Land Battles typically trigger when Palutena or Viridi disable the Power of Flight before it can cause major damage to Pit.[1] Though his attacks become weaker than they are in Air Battle,[2] the player is given freedom to roam the terrain for however long they desire. In addition, the player is now able to dash freely and use powers as they see fit.[3]

Strategy[]

The player should generally keep Pit moving at all times, mostly from side to side to avoid enemy fire while attacking. An alternative is to temporarily cease attacking in order to allow Pit to dash to safety if necessary.

Though dash attacks typically possess more strength than other attacks, the player should refrain from overusing them to prevent exhausting Pit and ultimately rendering him vulnerable.
