Minos (ミノス Minosu) are creatures resembling organic balloons that prefer to stay airbourne when attacking. They are among the more delicate Underworld monsters, being quite weak due to their brittle, air-filled bodies.

Characteristics

Minos are extremely lightweight organisms that are bright red in coloration. Their bodies are capable of expanding whenever they inhale large amounts of air, giving them the ability to float through the sky. Among their most notable features are their large tusks, as well as the dangerous spikes that line their bodies. In addition, Minos have a nasty habit of exploding if too much pressure is put on their bodies from outside forces. As such, if they are attacked in the air, their bodies will grow larger until they are forced to unleash their pressure in a fiery blast, making them a rather dangerous enemy to attack.

Appearances

Kid Icarus

"A porcupine monster. It fills its body up with air like a balloon and flies around. Its big eyes can see invaders far off."

Minos are monsters only found in the Overworld. Minos prefer to ambush Pit. These creatures are like living balloons with spikes, although they only stay in the air briefly before returning towards the ground and disappearing.

Trivia

  • King Minos was the mythical ruler of Crete, who became a judge of the dead in the underworld after his death.
