Shot Cancellation is a gameplay mechanic introduced in Kid Icarus: Uprising. It is the process of collision between two shots from opposing weapons, which determines what shots can cancel others out.
If a weapon has a higher shot cancellation value than the opposing weapon, it will effectively destroy the enemy's shot. However, if their value is equal to one another, both shots will become nullified.
Each shot also has its own stamina values, which determines the shot's lifespan upon collision: even though a shot with a high cancellation value will automatically destroy a shot with a lower cancellation value, the shot that was cancelled will still reduce the stamina of the winning shot by the base damage of the losing shot. If a shot's stamina is reduced to zero, it will effectively be cancelled, regardless of its shot cancellation values.
