Skuttler Mage is a variant of Skuttler and an enemy first appearing in Kid Icarus: Uprising. Skuttler Mages can be destroyed from Skuttlers by the headdress it wears and its wand decorated with a skull. Skuttler Mages are hand-picked from Skutter forces rank-and-file, taught how to use magic, and thrown back into battle.
Appearances[]
Kid Icarus: Uprising[]
Skuttler Mages are somewhat quick but is still outrun by regular Skuttlers. A Skuttler Mage can cast a spell with its staff that can inflict weakening on Pit if not dodged, and Skuttler Mages can attempt to attack Pit by burning him with a stream of blue fire, if Pit is in their range.
Skuttler Mages are the rarest type, appearing only in Chapter 4: The Reaper's Line of Sight, Chapter 10: The Wish Seed, Chapter 18: The Ring of Chaos, and Chapter 20: Palutena's Temple.
Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS[]
Skuttler Mages are enemies in Smash Run mode. Like in Kid Icarus: Uprising, a Skuttler Mage can summon a jet of flames if the player's fighter is in their melee range, although Skuttler Mages now have another attack of targeting the player and then summoning a white explosion if they are far away. The magic explosion is indicated by a large target on the player's fighter, but the explosion itself can be dodged if the fighter moves before the Skuttle Mage attacks. If a fighter is hit by a Skuttler Mage's attack, their stats drop.
Idol Description[]
These Skuttlers can use magic, hence the name. They attack with a fire spell and a weakening spell that can lower your maximum health. Only the best Skuttlers get picked for this job, an honor that's better than any pay raise.
Trophy Description[]
An Underworld enemy from Kid Icarus: Uprising. This type of Skuttler specializes in magical attacks. In Smash Run, it can attack at close range or grab fighters from long range and do magical damage. Be careful! From magic to cannons to hiding in statues, Skuttlers are quite versatile.
Trivia[]
- Skuttlers are likely named after the members of scuttling gangs that formed during the late 1900s. The fact that these creatures are among the few that can attack with a melee weapon, as well as the symbolic cross-bones on their heads further prove their similarity to scuttler groups.
