The Soul-Eating Monster shares some similarities with Gulper Eels. It is long and snake-like and has a large maw that houses several circular saw-like teeth. It has several eyes on its face, much like a large spider. On its back are several bulbous potrusions that apparently act as the beast's weakpoint. It has multiple tentacles along the sides of its body, and its tail appears to be made of several severed artery-like structures. It constantly releases energy through this structure, suggesting it may have originally been part of a larger being. It is largely a pinkish-purplish color.
Role in the Story
Only appearing in Chapter 22, the Soul-Eating Monster resides in the City of Souls. It flies around for the souls that it desires but will not hesitate to bite and chew anything else in its path. The Soul-Eating Monster chases Dark Pit for a time, attacking with a beam-like attack. Dark Pit must shoot the potrusions on its back and then finish it by shooting into its mouth. If Dark Pit doesn't defeat it quickly, it will disappear and Dark Pit will say, "Buh bye now."
A monster that has long lurked in the City of Souls. Its diet consists of souls, which it swallows like a whale feeding on plankton. Yet with its sawlike teeth, the Soul-Eating Monster can chew through more...substantial meals as well.
- Despite the Idol referring to Soul-Eating Monster as an "it," Viridi refers to him as "himself" and Hades comments, "I find him quite adorable actually," suggesting that the Soul-Eating Monster is male.
- Although the Soul-Eating Monster lives in the Underworld, its AR card states that it is unaffiliated. However, the monster has purple arrows over its weak points, and purple arrows means it's with the Underworld Army.
