The Three Sacred Treasures Case (三種の神器の箱 Sanshu no Jingi no Hako, "Three Sacred Treasures Box"), formerly known as the Sealed Casket[1] (封印された箱 Fūin Sa Reta Hako, "Sealed Box"), is an object that debuted in the original Kid Icarus.
Physical Appearance[]
The Three Sacred Treasures Case is fashioned like a typical treasure chest, only tall and thin. Although yellow in the original Kid Icarus, it now possesses a red base with silver trimming in Kid Icarus: Uprising.
Appearances[]
Kid Icarus[]
“Caskets containing the Three Sacred Treasures.” |
Sealed away inside three caskets, the Three Sacred Treasures were separately placed under the watch of Twinbellows, Hewdraw, and Pandora by Medusa. A single casket is rewarded to Pit upon clearing a fortress, but they remain unusable until he has obtained all three.
Kid Icarus: Of Myths and Monsters[]
Similar to the original Kid Icarus, three Sealed Caskets were placed under the watch of the Minotaur, Skull Wing, and Fire Serpent by Palutena.
Kid Icarus: Uprising[]
Unlike in previous installments, all three treasures are now contained within a single box known as the Three Sacred Treasures Case.
In Chapter 8, Palutena has hidden the Three Sacred Treasures Case inside the sky's constellations for safekeeping—however, the Space Pirates inadvertently steal the treasures, forcing Pit to seek them out. After the Space Pirates and the Kraken have been dealt with, Pit secures the Three Sacred Treasures Case, and he and Palutena remark on how well it has held up over the years.
The case is shown once again at the beginning of chapters 9 and 23 before Pit heads through the gate to proceed with his missions.
Idol Description[]
Three Sacred Treasures Case[]
In Pit's first adventure, the Three Sacred Treasures were divided among Hewdraw, Twinbellows, and Pandora, hidden in their fortresses to rob Palutena of her powers. Yet despite years of conflict, their container has held up surprisingly well.
